Financial Planners Code of Ethics

Kummer Financial abides by a strict Code of Ethics outlined by the Certified Financial Planners Board of Practice Standards

The Code of Ethics is an expression of the financial planning profession’s recognition of its responsibilities to the public, to clients, to colleagues, and to employers.  These principles apply to all staff members at Kummer Financial Strategies, Inc.  We want clients to recognize our commitment to put their interests first and to offer the highest levels of competence and professionalism in all areas of working with clients and their families.  We vow to act as a fiduciary when working with client assets.

FPA Code of Ethics

Principle 1 Integrity

The KFS Team shall offer and provide professional services with integrity.

Principle 2 Objectivity

The KFS Team shall be objective in providing professional services to clients.

Principle 3 Competence

The KFS Team shall provide services to clients competently and maintain the necessary knowledge and skill to continue to do so in those areas in which the designee is engaged.  The planners vow to remain current on all continuing education requirements for their respective designations and go beyond the call of duty to stay current on economic information that may impact the planning and investment business.

Principle 4 Fairness

The KFS Team shall perform professional services in a manner that is fair and reasonable to clients, principals, partners and employers and shall disclose conflict(s) of interest(s) in providing such services.

Principle 5 Confidentiality

The KFS Team shall not disclose any confidential client information without the specific consent of the client unless in response to proper legal process, to defend against charges of wrongdoing, or in a civil dispute.

Principle 6 Professionalism

The KFS Team conducts themselves in a professional manner in all matters and reflect credit upon the profession.

Principle 7 Diligence

The KFS Team shall act diligently in providing professional services. Diligence is the provision of services in a reasonably prompt and thorough manner.  Diligence also includes proper planning for and supervision of the rendering of professional services.

THE FINANCIAL PLANNING ASSOCIATION (FPA)

The primary aim of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) is to be the community that fosters the value of financial planning and advances the financial planning profession.  FPA’s strategy to accomplish its objectives involves welcoming all those who advance the financial planning process and promoting the CFP® mark as the cornerstone of the financial planning profession.

The Financial Planning Association was created on the basic foundation that the CFP marks best represent the promise and future of the financial planning profession.  The CFP certification offers the public a consistent and credible symbol of professional competence in financial planning.
